David Dugger founded the Early College Alliance at Eastern Michigan University in 2007 and is now the Executive Director of the Washtenaw Educational Consortium Options. He has been recognized for his work in early middle colleges with the Dr. Chery Wagonlander Early Middle College Lifetime Achievement Award. . Dugger is most proud of making policy and systemic changes that have led to positive student outcomes.

ECA Alum Recognized for Social Justice Work

In the grips of her trauma, Audrey Gerard rose from her sickbed determined to right an injustice born from personal experience: discrepancies in Michigan’s health care access. Her persistence garnered her the first annual Justice Warrior Award presented by the Council of Baptist Pastors of Detroit &Vicinity on Martin Luther King Junior Day. Gerard, 24, is originally from Ann Arbor and is an alumnus of the Early College Alliance at Eastern Michigan University (ECA@EMU) and Kalamazoo College.
